Well I am told we have to write a small piece about ourselves, so where to begin,

I am of a certain age when my first models where Airfix kits - which came in a bag and were mostly tanks and small figures and bought from places like Woolworths. As I got older I found out that the bigger boys where building bigger kits, like those from Tamiya, and putting figures with them; but I got bored with them, so I tried my hand at making and painting a Historex kit and was hooked.

I even joined a modelling club and look were that got me, as I am now the secretary and treasurer of the North Surrey Military Modelling Group My main interests are the Napoleonic age and the 19th Century which includes the British Army and the American Civil war but that does not stop me from buying a kit of anything else and painting it.

My current job in the Basement is Roadshow coordinator which I enjoy a lot basically just ordering people around at shows My main job of work is that of a humble Postal delivery officer (That’s Postman to you and me) the benefits are an early start and time in the afternoons to sit and paint. Most of my painting is done using Acrylics, having made the change from oils a few years back but I will use other mediums if so needed.

So that’s me done, feel free to come talk to me if you see me at a show because that is what the Basement is all about - modellers helping fellow modellers
